Airbus

Airbus has shown a remarkable dedication to sustainability initiatives through its collaboration with Weston College. The company shares the same vision as the College in creating a more sustainable future and has demonstrated a commitment to driving positive change.

Airbus has been working with the college to train future talent for sustainable aviation and the skills needed for future. They have used the College’s partnership with the West of England Institute of Technology to share their future needs and skills gaps, which has developed a strategy towards training skills for a more sustainable future. By informing the College on the skills required they are influencing the training and education for future generations, which will help to build a more sustainable future and create a talent pipeline that will contribute to driving positive change in the industry.

Bristol Airport

Bristol Airport has taken significant steps towards a low carbon future, including introducing electric vehicles to their fleet and harnessing solar energy to power their terminal. They have also been among the first European airports to sign up to the UK's commitment to 'net zero' by 2050.

Through this roadmap Bristol Airport has opened opportunities for Weston College learners to develop Green Skills and has sent staff on the Hydrogen Bootcamp the College runs, plus they now offer a selection of apprenticeship opportunities to learners that will help them to deliver their Net Zero ambitions. These examples demonstrate their commitment to collaborating with Weston College and their dedication to building a more sustainable future.
