LibraryPlus

Far from being a traditional silent library, LibraryPlus is a vibrant learning location where students can study, think and create in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

The College’s Knightstone, Loxton and South West Skills Campuses all have their own LibraryPlus facility to enable all students to access an immense range of resources to support their study and progression. We have been proud to invest in modern library facilities to help our students get the very most out of their Weston College experience.

LibraryPlus staff are here to help you maximise your potential. They can work with you on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or with your whole class on live projects and assignments. They are also on hand to support and advise you on accessing resources, effective research and developing your study skills.

Each LibraryPlus centre has an extensive range of study materials to support your success, including:

  • Over 40,000 books, journals and technology resources
  • Access to specialist online databases including Ebsco Journals, Dawsonera & ProQuest eBooks and Encyclopedia Britannica.

One Message, Different Voices

Take a look at this powerful film made by the staff of Weston College to show how important it is for everyone from different backgrounds to be included. The film shares heartfelt stories and interviews with a diverse group of staff, showing how accepting different identities and backgrounds can make a big difference. Its purpose is to encourage viewers to think about their own biases and work towards making our community more welcoming to all. We invite everyone, regardless of their background, to join us and be a part of our journey toward a more inclusive future.

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
