Winter Gardens

The Weston College Group’s multimillion pound redevelopment of the Winter Gardens Pavilion on Weston seafront has created a new home for UCW, a Law and Professional Services Academy and a bright and spacious teaching and learning facility. It features a library, new computer equipment, technology-enhanced ‘pods’ for group study, a café, classrooms, social spaces and so much more… We’ve maintained the traditional elements of the design which makes the Winter Gardens so iconic, but also enhanced the new parts of the building to create an events and educational facility that meets the needs of today’s student body and wider local community while also inspiring the learners of tomorrow.

Knightstone Campus

The fifth and sixth floors of the Weston College Group’s seafront Knightstone Campus in the centre of Weston are exclusively for UCW students. The University Centre across the two floors has computer suites, group study spaces, common rooms, bookable classrooms and a brand new hair and make-up studio. Knightstone is also home to the UCW Academy of Performing Arts, which features performance and rehearsal spaces with fully-sprung floors, a health and fitness suite, sports hall and outdoor 3G pitch, a bistro serving hot and cold food and a Costa Coffee shop.

Loxton Campus

Our Loxton Campus (formerly called University Campus) opened in 2007 and was then extensively refurbished in 2014. It is a short drive from both the centre of Weston and the beach, and is easily accessible by buses. It is the base for UCW’s art, design, film, photography and music degrees, and has all of the specialist equipment and performance and gallery spaces to be expected from a facility dedicated to the creative arts. We also open the doors of Loxton Campus once a year to members of the public to showcase our students’ work as part of the Summer Show. Loxton also has a large grassy area outside, computer suites and a bistro.

South West Skills Campus

UCW’s aerospace, engineering and construction programmes are based at the South West Skills Campus near Weston Milton railway station. The facility has undergone a multimillion pound redevelopment in recent years and is comprised of the Weston College Group’s Automotive Technology Centre, Business Enterprise Centre, Construction and Engineering Centre of Excellence, Eco House and Future Technology Centre. SWSC also has its own sports pitch and refectory.

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
