WHAT DOES THIS COURSE INVOLVE
The course will cover the fundamental skills and knowledge you will need to enter the engineering industry. You will have the choice and flexibility to learn about a variety of engineering activities, including health and safety requirements, communication, milling, turning, fabrication and CNC.

As part of this study programme, you will develop your maths and English skills, and attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). You will also complete a work placement or extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
ASSESSMENT METHOD
We’ll assess your workshop and practical skills and your portfolio, with no formal exam, so more focus is placed on the progression on skills.
FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
This qualification could be your first step into a career in the engineering sector. You could enhance your skills by progressing to a Level 3 engineering qualification or apprenticeship at Weston College.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-3 with at least two at grade 4, or a qualifying Level 1 qualification.
