Social Care, BTEC Extended Diploma

The Social Care BTEC Extended Diploma is a comprehensive programme designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the field of social care. This engaging and practical course offers a deep understanding of the principles, theories, and practices involved in supporting individuals with diverse needs. Throughout the diploma, you will develop key skills and knowledge necessary for working in various social care settings, such as residential care homes, community outreach programs, or disability services. You will have two pathway options in year 2 – Health Care and Social Care. These allow you to take a tailored approach to your career and select the best opportunities for progression. Year 1 of this qualification will provide you with the theoretical and practical underpinnings for your chosen industry pathway in year 2.

With a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge through work placements and practical assessments. By completing the Social Care BTEC Extended Diploma, you will be well-prepared to pursue a fulfilling career in the social care sector.

You will benefit from work experience opportunities with key local care providers, engaging trips and tours, guest lectures from industry experts and courses designed in collaboration with employers to meet industry demands.
