Apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16 and allow you to earn while you learn. Becoming an apprentice is an excellent way to learn while earning a wage, offering many benefits to both apprentices and their employers. Apprentices are provided with specialist and nationally recognised construction industry skills and qualifications, so both the apprentice and their employer benefit!

WHAT DOES THIS COURSE INVOLVE
You will develop your knowledge and work-based skills focusing on handling, stacking, servicing, and inspecting scaffolding materials; and selecting, servicing, and a range of common access and special purpose scaffolding structures used in the construction, engineering, and industrial sectors. Alongside this, you will learn the health and safety regulations needed to always work safely.

You’ll learn basic skills, knowledge, and awareness in:
- Interpreting drawings
- Estimating resourcing
- Basic building methods

You’ll also focus on personal skills in:
- Mathematics
- English
- Personal organisation
- Study Skills
ASSESSMENT METHOD
Formative assessment throughout the programme and end point assessment.
An end-point assessment usually includes:
- A practical assessment
- Written or multiple-choice tests
FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
You could progress to a job as a scaffolder. You could also choose to unlock the highest-paying scaffolding jobs with further qualifications, including Level 3s and apprenticeships.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-2 with at least two at grade 4, or a qualifying Level 1 qualification. You will also need to be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this.
