Our state-of-the-art facilities and competitive gaming environment provide the perfect platform for you to hone your talents and compete on a national level. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting your esports tournament journey, we're here to help you succeed.

Please note: You do not have to be studying Esports to try out - everybody is welcome in the academy.

Get ready to face off against other colleges from across the UK in thrilling esports competitions, including the nationally recognised British Esports Student Champs and college-ran competitions by colleges such as South Devon, SGS and more. Represent Weston College on a grand stage and showcase your skills to a wider audience.

Our experienced team manager is dedicated to helping you improve everything from your gameplay to your wider skills. Whether it's refining your in-game strategies, learning about psychology in competitive gaming, enhancing your teamwork, leadership and communication, or sharpening your individual skills, we are here to guide you every step of the way.

As part of the British Esports Student Championships, there’s also an opportunity to get involved with the Women in Esports division if you identify yourself as female or a marginalised gender. Please message the academy leader - Will Price - for more information if you are interested in this.

How it Works:

Email will.price@weston.ac.uk for your opportunity to try out.  

 

 

Try-outs will be held the week after Freshers fair, you will be contacted depending on which game you have signed up for. We will reach out to you via Teams to invite you to try out. This will be your opportunity to showcase your skills and demonstrate why you deserve a place on the team! If you are successful in your try-out, we will invite you to join the team. The academy takes place on Wednesdays, from 3-6pm at Knightstone Campus.

Alongside training with your teammates and with the support of our manager and coaches to help developing strategy and refining your gameplay, you will also compete with colleges across the UK! 

Beyond gaming, the academy focuses on personal growth and development. Learn essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and time management that will benefit you both in and out of the gaming arena.
