In 2017/18 Weston College won the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education, one of only two further education colleges in the country to be awarded this prestigious honour.

Our sports academy has access to outstanding sporting facilities, which support our athletes’ development. As an academy athlete you will have access to:
- 3G Artificial Grass Pitch
- Performance Gym
- Sport England Specifications Sports Hall

At Weston College, our sports academy programmes recognise the abilities and efforts of those who are striving to become top athletes and aims to support them to achieve their potential, through an athlete-centred approach. You will have the opportunity to combine your academic studies alongside your sports academy programme, which allows you to fully immerse yourself as a student-athlete.  

As part of the sports academy programme, we incorporate a variety of training methods to ensure that potential is fully maximised, such as: 
- Sports Analysis  
- Strength and Conditioning 
- Pitch and court sessions  

At Weston College we understand the importance of creating pathways for our athletes to support progression. Therefore, we have developed several partnerships that can enable our students to progress into elite sport, such as key relationships with Weston-Super-Mare Football Club and Bristol Bears Rugby.  

Establishing strong relationships with local clubs has proven to be extremely successful with numerous students going on to represent the WSM AFC First Team, Bristol Bears Women, England Colleges, and England U18s.
