Top 5 things to do at Freshers’ Fayre
Amongst everything that’s on offer, we’ve chosen our five favourite things that will be at the ‘We Are Weston’ Freshers’ Fayre 2019. So, in no particular order, here they are…
As well as forming friendships with your classmates, Freshers’ Fayre is a great chance for you to mingle with students from different campuses that you would not meet otherwise. You’ll also get to experience the community that College creates, alongside like-minded people.
Arguably, one of the best things about being a student is the discounts! You might have already signed up for the brilliant discount card from Totum, but if you come to Freshers’ Fayre you will have access to even more exclusive money saving deals using the ‘We Are Weston’ wristband. Pick up yours on arrival to find out what local deals you can take advantage of.
Freshers’ Fayre also offers you the chance to show others what you can do by taking on the surf machine and rodeo bull challenges. You might have seen these before, but the aim is to test your balance and see how long you can last – it’s way harder than you think! The 3G pitch will also be hosting human table football where you can work as a team to score goals against an opposing team of students.
Want to make a difference to student life at College? Every single student at Weston College is part of the Students’ Union which is lead by elected members. As well as organising days out and trips abroad, the leadership team also put forward your thoughts and ideas in order to make the student voice heard. This is a great chance for you to add another string to your bow, which looks great on your CV
While getting good grades is an important part of your time with us, Weston College is far from a ‘results factory’. We believe that creating brighter futures also means building character and developing learners into well rounded and well-equipped individuals who are inspired to succeed. Therefore, at Freshers’ Fayre you’ll see how you can enrich your timetable with sport academies, clubs, the combined cadet force and so much more!
