Last month, our Year 2 Level 3 Travel & Tourism learners took a trip to Bristol Airport’s Career Fair in order to network with employers and check out the possible routes and positions students could go into within Bristol Airport and the Tourism industry in general.  

The Careers Fair showcased over 150 job roles across various sectors including customer service, hospitality, retail, airline operations, security, and construction. This gave the students an idea of the various opportunities available within an airport and gave them the chance to explore alternative routes and discuss their options with professionals.  

Students also learnt more about seasonal and permanent role opportunities across the company to allow for more flexibility and lower commitment positions. Learners also discussed entry-level roles and progression routes with the airport, giving them a better understanding of the potential growth within each role so they can eventually secure a higher-level role with more responsibilities.   

Attending a careers fair offers college students valuable opportunities to explore potential career paths, connect with employers, and gain insight into the skills and qualifications sought in their chosen fields. These events allow students to network directly with recruiters, ask questions about job roles and company culture, and make a strong and personal impression. Additionally, the experience can build confidence in professional communication, clarify career goals, and motivate students to further develop their skills to meet industry expectations.
