Course Overview
Based at Knightstone Campus, our Level 2 Beauty Therapy Technical Diploma provides comprehensive training in a wide range of treatments, including facials, massage techniques, manicure and pedicure services, and core body therapies. You’ll gain a strong foundation in the essential skills needed for the beauty sector while beginning to understand the standards expected within professional practice.
This technical diploma is a high-level, hands-on course designed for those who are serious about starting a career in beauty therapy. From week five, you’ll work with real clients, giving you early exposure to professional expectations and the opportunity to build confidence in your abilities. Learning takes place in industry-standard treatment rooms equipped with professional tools and resources, and you’ll be guided throughout by experienced tutors who have worked in both salon and spa environments. Work placements in local salons and spas further enhance your training, allowing you to apply your skills in genuine, real-life settings.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through practical demonstrations, written assignments, and case studies. Practical work is designed to mirror real-world beauty therapy tasks, combining technical skill and creativity.

Learners should be aware that they will be expected to take part in all treatments, which may include removing makeup, exposing their feet, and participating in waxing. By week 5, learners will begin working on clients, and this is a compulsory element of the course.
Kit and uniform links will be provided during enrolment, but a bursary application and/or £100 deposit will be required prior to starting the programme.
Entry requirements
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-3, including English. A keen interest in beauty therapy and a creative approach are essential.
What can I do after this course?
You could progress to the Beauty Therapies Diploma, a specialist beauty apprenticeship, or employment as a beauty therapist, spa therapist, or nail technician. Further study options include advanced courses in holistic therapies, make-up artistry, or salon management.
