Launch your career in civil engineering while earning a wage and gaining valuable industry experience. This apprenticeship combines workplace training with specialist college learning, helping you develop the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to shape the infrastructure of the future.
Course Overview
The Civil Engineering Apprenticeship is an excellent choice if you want to build a career designing, constructing, and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps communities connected. Combining paid employment with technical training, this apprenticeship allows you to develop your knowledge while gaining hands-on experience working on real engineering projects.
Based at Weston College's South West Skills Campus, you will benefit from industry-standard facilities designed to reflect professional engineering environments. These include specialist surveying equipment, modern engineering software, materials testing laboratories, geotechnical analysis facilities, and well-equipped workshops that support your technical development.
You will be taught by experienced engineering professionals who bring extensive industry expertise into the classroom, helping you understand both the technical and practical aspects of civil engineering. Alongside developing engineering knowledge, you will build essential professional skills including communication, teamwork, project planning, and problem-solving.
As a Weston College apprentice, you will become part of our Engineering Career Excellence Hub, giving you access to employer networking opportunities, site visits, guest lectures, recruitment events, and masterclasses delivered by professionals from across the construction and civil engineering industries.
