Course Overview
Human Resources plays a vital role in helping organisations recruit, develop, and support their people. This apprenticeship is ideal if you're interested in working with people, solving problems, and helping businesses create positive, productive workplaces.
You'll earn a salary while gaining valuable workplace experience alongside experienced HR professionals. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll develop a strong understanding of HR processes, employment law, recruitment, employee relations, and people management, while learning how to provide effective advice and support across an organisation.
As a Weston College apprentice, you'll become part of our Business Career Excellence Hub. Through employer partnerships, guest speakers, networking events, and industry engagement, you'll gain valuable insights into modern business practices and develop the professional skills employers are looking for.
You'll study in purpose-built business facilities, including modern classrooms, a boardroom, and business suite, while being supported by experienced tutors and assessors with extensive business and HR experience.
What will I study?
You'll develop the knowledge and practical skills required to support a modern Human Resources function.
Topics include:
• HR service delivery • Recruitment and employee lifecycle processes • Employment law and compliance • HR systems and record management • Advising managers on HR matters • Customer service and communication • Problem solving and decision making • Teamworking and collaboration • Process improvement • Professional development
You may also complete the CIPD Level 3 Certificate in People Practice, providing a recognised professional qualification. Please note that the CIPD membership fee (£178) is payable by either you or your employer.
How will I be assessed?
Your end-point assessment consists of:
• A consultative project of approximately 3,000 words • A professional discussion exploring your knowledge, skills, and behaviours
Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll also build evidence of your learning and workplace competence.
Entry Requirements
• Five GCSEs at grades 9–4 or a relevant Level 2 qualification • Employment with a suitable employer

Successful completion of this apprenticeship can lead to a wide range of careers within Human Resources.
