Course Overview
The Plumbing Trade, Level 1, is a vocational course designed to equip individuals with the skills necessary for effectively handling plumbing installations and repairs. This course covers various plumbing techniques, such as pipe bending, jointing, and soldering, allowing learners to develop essential plumbing skills.
Throughout the Plumbing trade level 1, a diverse range of advanced topics are covered to provide learners with a comprehensive skill set.
What will I study?
The course content includes:
- Advanced pipe bending
- Jointing techniques
- Plumbing systems design and installation *Domestic hot and cold-water systems
- Heating systems
- Drainage systems
- Plumbing regulations
- Health and safety practices
- Renewable energy technologies in plumbing
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of plumbing systems
Assessment Method
Within the course typically include practical assessments, written exams, plumbing projects, and maintenance tasks. By the end of the course, participants will have demonstrated their advanced understanding of plumbing techniques and systems design, as well as their ability to apply this knowledge practically.
Entry Requirements
To enrol in the plumbing Trade Level 1 course, you must meet the entry requirement of having a grade 3 or higher in both mathematics and English. If learner does not meet grades recommend different course, they enjoy before going for plumbing (Faculty will also have a look at applicants on a case-by-case basis if passionate)

Progression onto the Level 2 Qualification or potentially an apprenticeship

You’ll get to meet with industry employers, where you can ask questions, get advice, and start making connections that could shape your future career.
Additionally, you’ll be taken on visits to large commercial sites, giving you the chance to see real-life construction projects in action.
