If you're passionate about storytelling, filmmaking, digital content, or television production, this one-year UAL Diploma is the perfect place to begin your creative journey. Based at Loxton Campus, you will learn in industry-standard facilities, including our professional television studio, editing suites, specialist production spaces, and dedicated media equipment. You'll be taught by award-winning lecturers who remain active within the creative industries, ensuring your learning reflects current professional practice and emerging trends.

This is a highly practical course where you'll be encouraged to experiment with ideas, work collaboratively on creative projects, and develop your own style as a content creator. Whether you're behind the camera, in the edit suite, writing scripts, or directing productions, you'll gain the confidence and technical expertise needed to produce work to a professional standard.

What will I study?

You will develop practical production skills while exploring a wide range of creative media formats and techniques.

You will also create a range of media products, including:

Throughout the course, you'll work on a variety of practical assignments, allowing you to explore different creative roles while developing your own specialisms and building a professional portfolio.

Assessment is entirely coursework based, making this course ideal if you enjoy practical learning and creative project work.

You'll be encouraged to work independently as well as collaboratively, helping you develop the creative confidence, communication skills, and professionalism needed within the fast-moving media industry.

Entry Requirements

• A minimum of five GCSEs at grades 9–2, including at least two GCSEs at Grade 4 or above

OR

• A relevant Level 1 qualification

You should also have:

• A genuine interest in film, television, and digital media • Creativity and a willingness to experiment with ideas • An enthusiasm for storytelling and visual communication

Previous experience using software such as Adobe Creative Cloud or professional cameras is helpful but not essential, as you'll develop these skills throughout the course.
