February Half Term Workshops for Year 10 & 11

These one-day workshops are an excellent opportunity for Year 10 & 11 students to see the amazing facilities at Weston College, meet our expert staff and find out more about the subjects on offer below. Workshops are open to all Year 10 and 11 students.
Already applied for a course? - No problem! There's no harm in trying a subject and putting in another application if you're trying to decide between multiple subject choices. If you haven't yet applied, this can be a great way to try multiple courses over the 3 days and the opportunity to apply on the day!
Please bring your own packed lunch, as the canteen will be closed during half-term!

Join us for our Construction Taster Sessions in February half term and get a hands-on experience of the bricklaying, plastering, and carpentry trades. You'll have the chance to learn from experienced professionals and try your hand at some real-world construction tasks. Whether you're thinking about a career in construction or just curious about what it's like, our taster sessions are a great way to find out more. Learn skills and techniques to create your own dish.
Explore SFX, media make up and hair techniques to create an overall look.
Students will find out about the Early Years Curriculum and the different ways that children learn. You will participate in practical activities that show how to encourage creativity, curiosity and engagement in very young children. You will start to evaluate and analyse planning and activities.
Morning Session: Students to use engineering hand skills to design and make a metal bookmark. They will create unique shapes and textures using a range of engineering tools and skills to make their own personalised bookmark.
Afternoon Session: Students to use a range of electronics skills, tools and techniques to create their own unique electronic components.
