As the year draws to a close, we’re taking a look back on a year filled with exciting trips for our students! Our Career Excellence Hubs are designed to be the launching pad for our learners' careers. In a world where connections and relevant skills matter more than ever, these hubs offer a holistic approach that prepares learners to thrive in their chosen industries. With the support of these hubs, our learners are well-equipped to make a significant impact in their professional journeys. Business & Travel and Tourism Learners Visit New York! On Top 2 Column Split Light Gray

The year started off with our Business and Travel and Tourism taking on New York! The group of 34 visited the city for five days, managing to fit in as many activities as possible, including Liberty and Ellis Island, a Wall Street and Financial District Tour, Ground Zero and the 9/11 Museum, a boat tour, 5th Avenue, Central Park, High Line, and the Empire State Building. The visit was the faculty’s first international trip since the Coronavirus Pandemic. Find out more about the trip here

A Level Media Students Trip to Warner Brother Studios On Top 2 Column Split Light Gray

Our A Level Media learners had the amazing opportunity to immerse themselves in a spellbinding world on a trip to the Harry Potter Studios where they had the chance to see the process of a Hollywood-style feature film production from beginning to end. Throughout their day they were able to observe the original sets and props used in the series, get on the Hogwarts express train on Platform 9 ¾ and waver through Diagon Alley. Some learners even got the chance to ride a broomstick, like the original cast did, allowing them to explore the use of a greenscreen in film production. Find out more about the trip here! 

Health and Social Care Trip to London On Top Single Block Light Gray

Our Level 3 Health and Social Care learners took a trip to London to encourage the students to learn and gain an understanding of London’s rich medical history, while also experiencing the amazing sights the city has to offer. Learners explored Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole's historical impact on medicine at the Florence Nightingale Museum, located on Lambeth Palace Road in South East London. The museum offers an abundance of rich learning opportunities, from tours to their popular ‘Meet Miss Nightingale’ series, which gives learners a chance to hear live, factual performances from actors taking on the role of Florence Nightingale herself.  Find out more about the trip here

A Level Fashion Visit the DIVA Exhibition in London On Top Single Block Light Gray

Learners studying A Level Fashion took a trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum in Knightsbridge London. Students had the opportunity to visit an array of exhibitions, including DIVA, which is running until April 2024. DIVA celebrates the power and creativity of iconic performers, exploring and redefining the role of 'diva' and how this has been subverted or embraced over time across opera, stage, popular music, and film. There was a spectacular collection of costumers which were worn by icons including Maria Callas, CHER, Rihanna, Elton John and Marilyn Monroe. Find out more about the trip here!

Public Services Trip to HMS Raleigh On Top Single Block Light Gray

Our level 2 and level 3 Public Services learners had the amazing opportunity to visit HMS Raleigh, a Royal Navy training establishment in Torpoint near Plymouth, comprising of over 239 acres of land. This site is where ratings from all branches of the Royal Navy receive their 10-week Initial Naval Training. A wide range of training is provided by the site including the Military Training Unit, the Board and Search Training School, the Royal Navy Submarine School, the Royal Navy School of Seamanship, and the School of Maritime Survival.

Students were also given an introduction to the Submarine Service. They gained insights into the advanced technology and complex operations that submariners experience. The Royal Navy personnel shared their experiences, emphasizing the significance of teamwork and attention to detail, which are crucial in submarine missions. Find out more about the trip here
