Exam Access Arrangements
Exam Access Arrangements (EAAs) are adjustments made to ensure students with specific needs can access exams fairly.
These may include extra time, assistive technology, rest breaks, a reader or scribe, modified papers, or alternative rooming. EAAs are not automatically carried over from school.
They are based on a student’s history of need and their usual way of working in lessons, mocks, and class tests.
To apply for EAAs, students must provide evidence, which may include:
- Form 8 and Form 9 from school (if previously received EAAs)
- Assessment results showing a substantial and long-term difficulty
- Teacher feedback confirming the student’s normal way of working
If you received EAAs in school, you must submit your Form 8 and 9 during the first week of term. Without these, we cannot guarantee arrangements will be in place for November GCSE resits.
How to Apply
Speak to your tutor or any member of staff to request a referral to the Learning Support team. An assessor will review your needs, carry out assessments if necessary, and liaise with teaching staff to complete the application.
All applications must meet JCQ regulations and be submitted before the deadline.
