Academic and Emotional Support at College
We offer personalised support to help you succeed in your studies and feel confident during your time at college. Whether you're working towards a qualification, preparing for employment, or building skills for adult life, our support is designed around your individual needs.
Our Engagement Specialists, who are trained in Emotional Literacy Support (ELSA), provide tailored help across all campuses. This includes support with learning, emotional wellbeing, and building confidence in and outside of the classroom.
Support can include:
- Help with assignments, study skills, and organisation
- Techniques to support memory, recall, and understanding
- Strategies to make abstract learning more concrete and accessible
- One-to-one or small group sessions focused on your learning goals
- Supporting you to develop your confidence in your communication skills
- Emotional support through regular ELSA sessions in a safe, trusted space
- Flexible contact via Teams when you need to reach out between sessions
We work closely with curriculum teams to make sure support fits around your course and helps you move forward. Whether you need help with managing anxiety, staying focused, or building confidence, we’re here to support you in a way that works for you.
Our aim is to make sure every student has someone they trust at college, someone who listens, understands, and supports them to build confidence, manage challenges, and develop the emotional resilience they need to thrive both in their studies and beyond.
