SEND Mentors - Support for Your Learning and Wellbeing
At Weston College, we know that everyone learns differently and may need extra support at times.
Our Specialist SEND team can provide mentoring and are here to help students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) feel confident, supported, and ready to achieve their goals.
What is a mentor?
Mentors provide pastoral and holistic support to learners to help you with both your learning and your wellbeing. They can work with you to:
- Build strategies to support your learning
- Offer encouragement and motivation
- Give guidance with everyday challenges at college
- Help you plan and organise your studies
- Be someone you can talk to about worries that may affect your learning
How can a SEND Mentor help me?
Your SEND Mentor can work with you one-to-one or in small groups. They will get to know you and support you in the way that works best for you.
This might include:
- Developing your confidence and independence
- Helping you manage your time and meet deadlines
- Supporting you with problem-solving and decision-making
- Encouraging you when things feel difficult
- Signposting you to other support services if you need them
