How to access learning support

Weston College offers a Learning Support model designed to empower you to reach your potential and achieve your goals.

If you feel you need some support in achieving on your college programme, we can offer you an individualised plan of support based on our Initial Needs Assessment process.

If you declare when you apply that you have any difficulties in your learning, you will undergo an Initial Needs Assessment with one of our Specialist SEND team.

This is an opportunity to discuss your experiences in education, identify how you learn best and what we can do as a college to support you in overcoming any barriers and achieving your qualification.

Initial Needs Assessments can take place at any time throughout the year, so if you feel that your needs have changed after enrolment and that you now need to access some learning support, you can speak to your personal tutor to request an Initial Needs Assessment, or contact the SEND Manager for your campus:

If you are a adult or an apprentice you can contact Lucy.bowman@weston.ac.uk

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
