Work-based learner contract
At Weston College, our expectations is that all learners come ‘ready to learn’ whether their location of study is on campus or in the workplace. As such, we have created the Work-based learning Apprentice Contract below which outlines the responsibilities of your apprentice in being ready to learn with respect, commitment and determination. We would encourage you as the employer to refer your apprentice back to this contract (available within the Apprenticeship Handbook 2020-2021) so as to work in collaboration with us across the learner journey.
I WILL...
Arrive at my workplace prepared, ready to engage in work and equipped with tools, specialist equipment, resources and uniform (where appropriate).
Arrive on time. If late I won't disrupt others and I will quickly settle in to the work environment. I'll acknowledge the teacher/employer and my lateness as soon as possible. As required I will phone ahead.
Use my mobile device, when directed by the teacher/assessor/employer in diverse ways to support and enhance my learning.
Switch my phone to silent and store it out of immediate reach, unless otherwise agreed with the teacher/assessor/employer.
Make sure I have given my emergency contacts relevant employer phone numbers.
Make a considerable effort to plan and manage my time.
Ask questions and purposefully engage with subjects, topics, learning material, tasks and procedures.
Commit fully to each task and demonstrate purposeful effort.
Communicate with the teacher/assessor/employer when I am faced with a barrier to learning.
Respect customers/service users and remain polite and patient at all times.
