Raising and Giving (RAG) week is back!

Our annual College-wide charity fundraising event returns for 2021, this year raising money for Weston Hospicecare and The Teenage Cancer Trust.

Every year we run competitions within the college so see which faculty can come up with the best challenges and more!

The award categories this year are:

  • Best online event - maybe its a quiz or a Teams party will you have the best online event?
  • Best fancy dress – this year there won’t be a specific fancy dress day so dress up when ever you want and make sure you get some pics to show off.
  • Most innovative online fundraising ideas - do something completely different and get creative.
  • Most miles covered (get running walking or cycling and try to be the class/group that clocks up the most miles) don’t forget to track your progress and screen shot with your award entry.
  • Best Challenge - will you challenge your class to run, walk or cycle the miles a Weston Hospice care nurse travels on an average day.
  • Outstanding commitment to RAG.

For students, there are full details on this SharePoint page including how to enter the RAG week awards. The faculty with the most awards will win the prestigious charity cup.

Weston Hospicecare provides free expert and compassionate palliative care to people living with a life-limiting illness both at home and in the hospice at Jackson-Barstow House.

We also support their families both before, during and after death. Over 700 volunteers and 150 dedicated staff serve a population of 170,000 within Weston-super-Mare and surrounding towns and villages in North Somerset and Sedgemoor.

The hospice has been providing vital care to the community for over 30 years and is funded by public donations and gifts in wills.
