Insight Sessions

What are they?

Once you have received your offer of place and completed your online enrolment to secure your place, you will then be invited to attend an ‘Insight Session’ with us. When this is complete you will sent information to book an ‘Insight Session’ with us.

We understand that it is difficult to make a decision about your next steps so our new for 2021 ‘Insight Sessions’ will provide you with the opportunity to find out more information whilst on campus with us. Insight sessions will be held once a month by each Careers Excellence Hub and are designed to bridge the knowledge gap between school and college so that you feel ready, prepared, confident, and excited to start your study programme with us in September.

These sessions are held in the evenings, 5pm- 6.30pm.

COVID-19 Guidelines: Attendees will be required to provide proof of negative lateral flow test via text or a notification from the NHS app. This should be dated no longer than 24 hours before your session date.

Please Note: This is for Year 11 students only and is only for those that have booked on. Please do not bring parents, friends or family with you

Our bookings for Insight Sessions have now finished. If you weren’t able to book onto an Insight Session, rest assured there will be plenty of opportunity for you to experience college and your specific course between now and September.

Please keep an eye on both your personal and Weston College email account as this will be the main way we communicate any future events/activities with you.

If you have any questions at all, please do get in touch with our School Team on schoolteam@weston.ac.uk

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes you can choose attend one or all of your chosen subject area’s Insight Session.

Yes! If you are undecided about what subject you want to choose this is a great opportunity for you to try each subject so we would definitely recommend you do.

Just bring yourself, something to write with and a drink and you’ll be good to go!

That’s absolutely fine and part of the process of finding the right subject. If you have applied for more than one subject and you are still considering the others then you can just log on to your eILP and withdraw your place for the one you no longer want. If you need some help and guidance on what to do next or you’d like some more information about anything else, please get in touch with the School Team on schoolteam@weston.ac.uk

One Message, Different Voices

Take a look at this powerful film made by the staff of Weston College to show how important it is for everyone from different backgrounds to be included. The film shares heartfelt stories and interviews with a diverse group of staff, showing how accepting different identities and backgrounds can make a big difference. Its purpose is to encourage viewers to think about their own biases and work towards making our community more welcoming to all. We invite everyone, regardless of their background, to join us and be a part of our journey toward a more inclusive future.

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
