Academic and Learning Development Job Vacancies

Find out how you can make a difference to learners throughout their time at Weston College

Are you an experienced educator looking for a new challenge? Or maybe a recent graduate with a passion for working closely with learners to improve their educational experience? Either way, Weston College wants to hear from you!

We offer a fully supported programme of training, including a funded teaching qualification, so you can take your expertise to the classroom and help shape the future of learners across the college.

The Academic & Learning Development area, which sits in our Student Support Services, can act as a brilliant pathway to teaching, without the commitment of a full teacher role. With training on the job, this department can offer varied and rewarding roles, that can be suited to a graduate with little to no experience or an expert in a different field who fancies a career change. Furthermore, we also have University Centre Weston, within the Weston College Group so this presents another great opportunity to upskill for the future.

The staff in the Academic and Learning Development team work closely with faculty teams to design, plan and deliver responsive and flexible academic development and transition programmes to prepare learners for progression to higher levels of study.

Furthermore, 'frontline’ customer service work is carried out alongside LibraryPlus staff, including supporting learners in accessing resources and services available.

Join a like-minded team in a modern campus with a full salary, holiday, and generous pension package. And with programmes from level two to seven and bespoke CPD courses, this could be the perfect opportunity to start your teaching career or take it to the next level.

Apply now and find out how you can inspire the next generation at Weston College.

If you have a disability, neurodivergence, or a condition that may impact your performance during our selection process, we are happy to accommodate your needs. You will have the opportunity to inform us of any necessary adjustments throughout the application and selection process. As an employee, we will continue to discuss and work with you to ensure you have the necessary accommodations to succeed in your role.

Some examples of possible adjustments include:

  • Allowing extra time for online assessments
  • Providing alternative accessible formats
  • Sharing interview questions beforehand
  • Offering additional information about what to expect
  • Providing an office orientation before an in-person assessment.

If you have any questions, please contact hr@weston.ac.uk

OUR ACADEMIC AND LEARNING DEVELOPMENT STAFF STORIES

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
