Supporting local young people into jobs at Bristol Airport

Take Off” is a project supported by North Somerset Council and Bristol Airport, helping local residents in need of employment support to secure jobs at the airport.

Weston College runs the Early Flyers strand, designed for anyone who is 19+ and is unemployed. We can meet with engaging with new participants throughout the year.

How Does It Work

Each learner follows a personalised action plan to complete tasks, both motivating and overcoming challenges.

Each learner follows a personalised action plan to complete tasks, both motivating and overcoming challenges.

11 weeks of training starts in September 2025, consisting of essential skills training (employability & customer service) and sector-specific modules.

As part of the 11 weeks of training, work experience and mock interviews will prepare learners for real job interviews aligned with live job vacancies.

A graduation event takes place on 14th November to celebrate learner success.

Events and activities will include free transport, and food and drink on specific occasions. Ongoing support will be available for 6 months.
