PARENT HUB

At Weston College we recognise the important role parents/carers play in supporting students throughout their education journey. This Parent Hub is your go to space for important information, resources and updates that help you to stay connected with college life.

The Parent Hub provides parents/carers access to information about their child’s education, including their:

1. Timetable

2. Attendance

3. Progress

4. Exam information

5. All central communications sent

It is important that parents/carers check the available information and attendance data regularly to help enable us to support their child to progress, achieve and exceed their potential.

College expectations on attendance are:

1. 100% attendance and 100% punctuality

2. Any learners whose attendance drops below 90% will trigger stage 1 of the College’s FE Student Attendance Policy.

3. All parents (if details provided at enrolment) will be informed of any unauthorised absence.

Parent Hub is accessible for all parent/carers of learners who are enrolled on the College’s Full-Time Study Programmes and were aged 18 or under at the start of the academic year.

1. Access permissions are granted by the learner. The learner must log in to their OnTrack Learner Hub and add a contact

2. Access OnTrack Learner Hub and log-in - https://applications.weston.ac.uk

3. Once logged in, the learner then clicks on their photo in to top right-hand corner and then on ‘Access Permissions’ from the drop-down menu.

4. Click on ‘add a new contact’ and complete the 4 mandatory fields marked with an * (plus the parent/contact’s Mobile Number field if known).

5. Ensure the Permission box is ticked and then click ‘save’.

6. Once a learner adds a contact on the Student Hub, a member of the administration team will confirm the account that has been created, this is to prevent duplicate accounts being created.

7. Once the account has been confirmed by the College’s administration team, parents/carers will receive an email from Weston College inviting them to log in to the Parent Hub.

8. Parent Hub can be accessed via the College website.

9. The first-time login will ask parents/carers to confirm the date of birth of their learner and their own email address.

10. Parents/carers will then be asked to create a password to login.

11. Parents/carers will now have access to all the information detailed above

FAQs

Once a learner adds permission for a parent/carer, the account needs to be confirmed by a member of our admin team. This is to ensure that no duplicate records are created. The invitation email will be sent as soon as the account has been confirmed.

If you’ve forgotten your password or entered an incorrect password too many times, you can reset the password from the log in screen. Click “Forgotten Password” and enter your email address used to create the account. You will then receive an email with a link to reset your password.

Parent Hub permissions are granted by the learner through the Learner Hub. Learners can remove/update the permissions at any time. If you previously had access but find you are no longer able to view your child’s information, discuss this with your child as they will need to re-enable your access through the Student Hub.

You can contact your child’s tutor directly to discuss their progress/attendance. All parents/carers of learners aged 18 or under at the time of enrolment are written to at the start of the academic year.

One Message, Different Voices

Take a look at this powerful film made by the staff of Weston College to show how important it is for everyone from different backgrounds to be included. The film shares heartfelt stories and interviews with a diverse group of staff, showing how accepting different identities and backgrounds can make a big difference. Its purpose is to encourage viewers to think about their own biases and work towards making our community more welcoming to all. We invite everyone, regardless of their background, to join us and be a part of our journey toward a more inclusive future.

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
