'Have a Go' at our March Open Evening and experience college life first-hand. 

Join us this March and have the chance to explore our courses through hands-on workshops and live demonstrations led by our expert staff and current students! You'll gain a real insight into what a typical day at college is like, from our facilities to the atmosphere on campus.

Whether you’re exploring new interests, planning your next steps, or simply curious about college life, this is the perfect opportunity to ask questions, meet our team, and have a go.

This open evening is ideal for both school leavers and adult learners. If you’re looking to upskill, retrain, or start something new in the new year, you’ll be able to meet teaching staff, explore our facilities, and discover the courses that can help you achieve your goals. What To Expect:

Get hands-on - Get involved with interactive workshops and live demonstrations, giving you a real taste of college life and what it’s like to study your chosen subject.

Explore our campuses – Take a look around our state-of-the-art facilities across Knightstone, Loxton, South West Skills, and Puxton Park. 

Meet expert staff – Connect one-on-one with tutors and faculty ready to guide you through your next steps. 

Discover a great mix of courses – Great for school leavers looking to 'discover their dream course' and adult learners looking to upskill, retrain, or kickstart a new career.

Support services on hand - Get access to School Liaison, Welfare, Learning Support, Apprenticeships, Careers Advice, and more. Including English, Maths, ESOL, adult courses, pre-employment guidance, and degree-level options at University Centre Weston.

 

Important Details

Timings: 

The event runs from 6:00 - 8:00pm. There are 4 slots you can book onto: 6:00pm, 6:30pm, 7:00pm and 7:30pm.

Locations:

Explore all of our campuses HERE. Make sure to check the correct campus before booking your spot.

Parking Information: 

  • Available at: Loxton, South West Skills, and the Animal Management Centre. Parking spaces are very limited - please be mindful of local residents and park responsibly if using nearby roads.
  • Knightstone Campus: No onsite parking, but several public car parks are within a short walking distance.
  • Public Transport: First Bus now offers direct services to all campuses. Find out more on their website

This isn’t a “stand and watch” kind of event. It’s your chance to roll up your sleeves and dive right in.

Digital & Computing – Build your own computer, test out cutting-edge VR equipment, and try your hand at programming with our expert Digital team.

Hair & Beauty – Catch a live barbering class in action and experiment with special effects makeup alongside our talented team.

Hospitality & Catering – Step into a live kitchen service, see how the heat is handled, and chat with our current students about life in the industry.

Counselling – Take a moment to reset with a guided mindfulness session and discover the power of wellbeing practices.

Media – Ever wondered what it’s like behind the mic? Present in our brand-new podcast studio!

Art & Design – Get creative with hands-on printmaking sessions.

Games & Animation – Try out our professional drawing tablets and bring your ideas to life digitally.

Health & Social Care – Experience realistic training in our immersive Simulation Room.

Sport – Put your strength and conditioning skills to the test with our Sports team.

A Level Psychology – Think you’ve got a sharp eye? Take part in an eyewitness testimony challenge and see how accurate your memory really is.

Engineering – Dive into a plug-and-play circuit session and spark your curiosity.

Construction Professions – Have a go at site layout planning and explore how projects take shape from the ground up.

Animal Management – Join interactive lab activities and watch practical demonstrations up close.
