Romina, one of our ESOL learners, is a finalist for the Learning Hero Award at the Bristol Young Heroes Awards! The Learning Hero Award is sponsored by Sir Steve West CBE - who Romina will be speaking with during the awards this June.

Last month, our Sport and Fitness students had the opportunity to attend an engaging workshop led by Sport Psychologist, Marcus Nel. The session offered valuable insight into the field of sport psychology, as Marcus shared his personal journey, answered industry-related questions, and delivered a dynamic workshop designed to deepen students' understanding of the career paths available to them.

We recently welcomed students from Electrical, Plastering, Carpentry, and Creative Arts to our Creative Construction Skills Summit at the Winter Gardens - each subject area bringing energy, creativity, and a real sense of purpose. 

In a heart warming six-week project that bridged generations through creativity, Weston College Level 1 and 2 Art and Design students partnered with residents of Beach Lawns Care Home to explore the world of ceramics.

This unique collaboration, which took place from the end of March through April, formed part of Weston College’s ongoing social impact work.

We are thrilled to announce that Weston College learner Callum Kavanagh has been named the South West Regional Winner for T Level Student of the Year in the prestigious Lloyds Banking Group Awards 2025.

Weston College learner, Gracie Donaghy, recently won the SPARKS Female Skills Competition 2025! This intense competition challenges participants to complete a live electrical installation from start to finish, testing their knowledge, accuracy, and time management under pressure.

Today, Somerset Chamber of Commerce hosted a Business Brunch at The Grove, located at our Knightstone Campus. The event provided a valuable opportunity for businesses from across Somerset to come together, connect, and network. The brunch included a compelling fireside chat between Pat Jones, Principal and CEO of Weston College Group, and David Crew, Managing Director of Somerset Chamber of Commerce.

Recently, a group of sixth form students joined thousands of pupils across the UK in taking part in the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Lessons from Auschwitz programme, marking a huge milestone for the initiative. With this most recent visit, over 20,000 students and teachers have now participated in the Trust’s transformative educational journey to the site of the former Nazi concentration and death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau. 

On the last day of term, our South West Skills Campus (SWSC) opened its doors to some of its youngest visitors yet—Year 1 pupils from Puffin Class at Mead Vale Primary School. The young students were invited to take part in an inspiring Careers in Construction Workshop, created to introduce them to the exciting world of construction. 

On the evening of April 3rd, students from a range of fashion and creative courses at Weston College came together to showcase their talent at Elevate, a spectacular fashion show held in the Regency Suite on the Grand Pier.
