Weston College was delighted to welcome the National Youth Theatre to deliver its IGNITE Your Creativity programme, a series of fully funded, industry-led workshops designed to inspire and engage students from across a wide range of creative and technical curriculum areas.

Last month, two of our Level 2 Beauty Therapy students acted as models during a Squad UK International Pressure Showcase at Weston College, giving them an excellent first-hand opportunity to work with Squad UK members and learn from them.  

Earlier this month, our Uniformed Protective Services students took part in an emergency response simulation to provide them with invaluable, hands-on experience and prepare them for a future career in the emergency and protective services industry.

Weston College was delighted to welcome back distinguished alumna and BBC journalist Sophie Long this week as she officially opened the college’s new Weston Waves Podcast & Audio Suite at Loxton Campus. 

Last month, our Photography students organised a pet photoshoot for members of the public to bring in their dogs, giving our students hands-on experience working with clients and building their confidence and skills. 

Weston College is celebrating the launch of its first cohort of Engineering Foundation Apprenticeships, with 21 learners enrolling with GKN Aerospace this week. This represents almost two thirds of all Foundation Apprenticeship starts nationally since the programme launched in August 2025.

Weston College and University Centre Weston (UCW) brought together leading engineering employers on Wednesday 19 November 2025, for a high-level Engineering Technical Advisory Board session, which was aimed at shaping the future of technical education across the region.

The event was hosted at GKN Aerospace, Bristol, and focused on strengthening collaboration between industry and education to ensure that training, curriculum design, and skills development continue to meet the needs of the local engineering and advanced manufacturing sectors.
