Abbie

My passion for art led me to the Art Level 2 course, where I explored my creativity and produced personal pieces. The course provided practical experiences like displaying my work in a town gallery, teaching me skills in naming, describing, and arranging artwork.

The support from Weston College staff has been incredible, boosting my confidence and providing extra help when needed. The library is a great resource for quiet study.

Learners studying A Level Fashion went on a trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum, in Knightsbridge, London last Friday.

44 learners in total went on the trip, where they had the opportunity to visit an array of exhibitions, including DIVA, which is running until April 2024.

DIVA celebrates the power and creativity of iconic performers, exploring and redefining the role of 'diva' and how this has been subverted or embraced over time across opera, stage, popular music, and film.

This course covers so many different aspects of art and photography. I have been encouraged to try out various mediums and techniques and have been able to use the facilities and studios to create things in my own time. I particularly loved experimenting with screen printing, ceramics, and plaster.

We are given so many exciting opportunities – one highlight was working with international artist Morag Myerscough to help create the Super Wonder Shrine in the centre of Weston-Super-Mare.
