Creative Arts Summer Festival 2024 - Student Art Showcase in Weston-super-Mare

Join us to celebrate the incredible creative minds of Weston College and University Centre Weston (UCW)!

This is a fantastic trip out for the family with live music, performances, artwork, locally sourced food, drink and more - all in celebration of the arts and young people in Weston-super-Mare. As well as enjoying the artwork and performances, you can also apply to join the College with our Careers Advice and Guidance Team sessions!

With the class of 2024 coming to an end, this festival style event will feature a grand display of artwork for all to see from our creative subject areas:

TICKETS

Tickets are free of charge, but we still ask that you please register in advance.

The show will run over four days, 19th-22nd June. Click the links below to book your tickets for each day!

Wednesday 19th June: 8pm - 10pm - Opening Night 

Thursday 20th June: 5pm - 10pm

Friday 21st June: 12pm - 10pm

On-site parking is free however this is very limited. Please note, there is also very limited local residential parking so please travel responsibly and sustainably.

Professional Industry Talks: Faye Elvin (Bristol Old Vic) 3:00 - 3:30pm - Preparing for Drama School Auditions: Offering advice and tips on how to prepare for auditions at drama schools, including selecting audition pieces, practicing monologues, and showcasing individual strengths. This could also cover the importance of confidence, authenticity, and resilience during the audition process.

Professional Industry Talks: Faye Elvin (Bristol Old Vic) 3:45 - 4:15pm - Navigating the Industry as a New Graduate: Offering guidance on how to transition from education to a professional career in the creative arts. This could involve discussing strategies for networking, finding job opportunities, building a portfolio, and managing the challenges of starting out in a competitive industry.

The Future of Theatre and Performance: Considering the future direction of theatre and performance, including innovations in storytelling, changes in audience engagement, and the evolving role of technology. This could spark discussions about the intersection of traditional and contemporary forms of theatre, as well as the potential for new forms of expression and collaboration.
