Max and Kieran, two Brickwork Construction students from Weston College, recently demonstrated their skill and professionalism at the South West Skills (SWS) Challenge Construction event held at Yeovil College.

A group of Year 1 T-Level Design, Surveying, and Planning for Construction learners recently welcomed two guest speakers, Sam Lillywhite and Katie Corbett, from the Bristol-based construction company, Bray & Slaughter. 

We recently welcomed students from Electrical, Plastering, Carpentry, and Creative Arts to our Creative Construction Skills Summit at the Winter Gardens - each subject area bringing energy, creativity, and a real sense of purpose. 

Weston College learner, Gracie Donaghy, recently won the SPARKS Female Skills Competition 2025! This intense competition challenges participants to complete a live electrical installation from start to finish, testing their knowledge, accuracy, and time management under pressure.

On the last day of term, our South West Skills Campus (SWSC) opened its doors to some of its youngest visitors yet—Year 1 pupils from Puffin Class at Mead Vale Primary School. The young students were invited to take part in an inspiring Careers in Construction Workshop, created to introduce them to the exciting world of construction. 

This year’s Raising and Giving Week (RAG Week) at Weston College was a great example of collaboration across all subject areas. With the theme of ‘Flower Power’, the college came together to raise money for two incredible local charities: Weston Hospicecare and The Grand Appeal.  

A group of Year 2 BTEC Civil Engineering learners recently visited Beard Construction Ltd’s site at the Bristol Zoo Project in North Bristol.
