We spoke with Pasquale, who completed our Level 2 Barbering course and won our Hair, Barbering and Beauty Student of the Year Award and Adult Student of the Year Award at Celebration of Success, to find out how the course has impacted his career.

Last week, Weston College opened its doors to new and returning students as they embarked on the start of the new academic year.  

Over three days, each CEH area welcomed first-year students with a wide variety of activities designed to help them settle in, build friendships, and get familiar with both their learning environment and the tools they’ll be using throughout their studies. 

Level 1 courses are a great way to build a foundation of knowledge around a subject, introducing you at a more flexible and slower pace whilst building your skills and preparing you to progress onto Level 2.   

Following the South West Regional heats of the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) Competition hosted at Weston College, some of our HE and FE students progressed to the AHT Final in Blackpool that took place over 2 days. 

Throughout the competitions, our FE and HE learners showcased exceptional skill, determination, and passion across the two days in each category, and this was truly reflected in the fantastic results of our students.  

On the evening of April 3rd, students from a range of fashion and creative courses at Weston College came together to showcase their talent at Elevate, a spectacular fashion show held in the Regency Suite on the Grand Pier.

Weston College have recently held an inter college competition for the South West Skills Challenge for Hair and Beauty – a competition which has been set up by colleges in the South West to support learners in their preparations for WorldSkills competitions.

Last month, Weston College proudly hosted the regional heats of the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) Competition.
