This month, we’re proud to feature Luke Morgan, a Weston College alumnus who has carved out a career in the world of professional football. Luke is now a First Team Football Analyst at Bristol City Football Club, and his journey from classroom to pitch-side is a true inspiration for aspiring sports professionals. 

Who are you and what is your current job role? 

This month’s featured trailblazer is Georgia Ferdinando, a former learner, apprentice and staff member at Weston College, who is now a Schools Coordinator for the City Football Group, representing Manchester City Football Club in Abu Dhabi. 

We caught up with Georgia, to find out about her journey, and what she is doing now:  

What did you study at Weston College? 

Weston College was delighted to welcome back its alumnus, Dave Trevaskus (now Head of Retail Training at the LEGO Group), for a full day of workshops on Thursday 2nd of October. Dave’s visit brought energy, insight, and a genuine sense of connection as he shared lessons from his own journey and encouraged learners and staff to see every challenge as a stepping stone and to encourage a playful mindset.

Last week, Weston College opened its doors to new and returning students as they embarked on the start of the new academic year.  

Over three days, each CEH area welcomed first-year students with a wide variety of activities designed to help them settle in, build friendships, and get familiar with both their learning environment and the tools they’ll be using throughout their studies. 

Level 1 courses are a great way to build a foundation of knowledge around a subject, introducing you at a more flexible and slower pace whilst building your skills and preparing you to progress onto Level 2.   

As the academic year draws to a close, students from Sport and Health & Social Care came together for an in-house Sports Day, organised by the Year 2

Three Sport students from Weston College recently competed in the Somerset Schools' Golf Championship, held at Weston Golf Club on March 19th. The event brought together over 100 talented students from across Somerset, all competing for a place in the prestigious South West Championships.
