This week, one of our Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services learners, Jess, is taking part in a Walk for Autism challenge where she will walk 10,000 steps a day for 8 days from 26th March – 2nd April, 80,000 steps in total, raising money for autism initiatives such as specialised projects, education, and social opportunities. 

This month, Weston College celebrated Raising and Giving (RAG) Week with the theme of the Wild West. The themed event gave everyone the chance to organise games, activities, and raffles in support of two incredible charities: Weston Hospicecare and UNICEF.

This week, our Animal Management students took part in mock interviews with employers to provide them with valuable insight into the application process for a full-time job following college.

Last month, our Travel and Tourism and Business students received an insightful guest lecture from Border Force members, Darren and Andy, giving learners a deeper understanding into the potential careers within Border Force and the possible progression routes.  

Last month, our Creative and Digital Media students had the opportunity to visit Los Angeles, California, for a 5-day trip to see the sights and visit valuable production studios in Hollywood.

Weston College is proud to announce the signing of an exciting new partnership agreement with Hornets R.F.C, creating fresh opportunities for students to access the Hornets’ fantastic facilities as part of their enrichment programme.

The partnership, which has already launched in its early stages, has been met with overwhelming positivity from learners. With over 100 students already taking part, embracing the chance to try new activities and step outside their comfort zones.

This week, Weston College hosted the Beauty Therapy South West Skills Challenge endorsed by WorldSkills UK for the second year in a row, with one of our Weston College students, Aimee Thomas, taking 2nd place after Bath College. This was an excellent opportunity for students from across the South West to compete in a range of techniques in a professional, time-sensitive environment.
