This 5 day course has been designed as initial training for aspiring team leaders, supervisors, managers or persons in leadership and management roles without any prior training. This is an unaccredited course and provides an initial toolkit without lengthy assignments or exams.

Excel Expert Short Course (half day)

The Solutions Programme, is a flexible, community-based adult education offer designed to support people who are furthest from the employment market to rebuild confidence, develop essential skills, and move positively towards work, training, volunteering, or improved wellbeing.

What will I study?

Solutions provides a supportive, non-judgemental learning environment where adults can explore their goals, overcome barriers, and progress at a pace that works for them. The programme combines:

  • Soft-skills development — confidence, teamwork, communication, growth mindset, time management, resilience, and emerging content on workplace conflict management.
  • Creative and wellbeing sessions — such as Creative Writing, Art for Wellbeing, Crochet & Chat, Expressive Exploration and Positive Mental Health
  • Employability support — job clubs, CV guidance, interview preparation, themed weeks, work readiness and career planning.
  • Digital inclusion work — development of digital awareness sessions, community drop-ins, and pathways to improve everyday tech skills.
  • Life skills and independent living — budgeting, daily living, personal organisation, and navigating systems.
  • Vocational tasters — in Childcare, Hospitality, Digital, Customer Service, Health & Social Care, Business & Retail.

It blends 1:1 coaching, small group sessions, and short courses, allowing each learner’s journey to be tailored to their confidence level, personal circumstances, and long-term goals.

The Solutions Programme is a vital early-engagement pathway for those aged 19+, that bridges the gap between unemployment and active participation in work or training. It focuses on confidence, communication, well-being and digital essentials, while gradually connecting learners to meaningful progression routes.

Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification

Emergency first aid saves lives - being prepared can make all the difference in a crisis. In the workplace, quick action can prevent minor injuries from becoming major emergencies, a vital skill that keeps everyone safer.

Course Overview

Throughout this course you will learn both theoretical and practical skills in administering Emergency First Aid with particular emphasis on practical skills and application.

This training will include:

  • The roles and responsibilities of the first aider
  • Assessing an emergency situation safely
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Administering first aid to a chocking casualty
  • Bleeding, wound care, and tourniquet application
  • Dealing with shock, burns, scalds, bleeds and minor injuries

This qualification is valid for 3 years, annual refreshers are recommended
