Pre-Vocational Learning at Weston College recognise that every learner’s journey is unique. That’s why our course is designed to be flexible, inclusive, and focused entirely on helping you achieve your personal goals.
Course Overview
The course aims to provide opportunities for learners aiming to develop independence and recognise ambitious individualised and aspirational outcomes. Learners accessing the course may be undecided in which vocational pathway they would like to continue their learning within or be uncertain if they are ready to sustainably access a further educational course without the development of essential transferrable skills.
Learners may also want to develop the skills needed to access employment opportunities or transition to independent living. Together, we’ll co-create a bespoke timetable that fits your interests, goals, and support needs. Your learning experience is shaped around you. Get hands-on experience across multiple vocational areas to help you find your passion and make informed choices about your future progression.
Our offer reflects the wide range of opportunities across the college. You’ll have your own Personal Tutor, there to guide you throughout your journey, helping you recognise your strengths, build confidence, and develop new areas of focus.
Develop your maths and English in ways that are practical, engaging, and relevant to your goals; preparing you for life, work, and further study. Access experienced staff who understand your individual needs. Every part of our approach is rooted in trauma-informed practice, creating a safe, supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
Enjoy a fun and engaging programme that builds cultural capital through community-based learning, alternative environments, and exciting enrichment opportunities. Finishing the course will include supporting your smooth transition into your chosen progression route — whether that’s further education, employment, or independent living.
