Spanish, A Level
Discover the richness of the Spanish language and culture while developing skills that open doors to global opportunities. This course will immerse you in Spanish language, literature, and culture, enabling you to communicate confidently, analyse complex texts, and understand contemporary and historical perspectives across the Spanish-speaking world.
Course Overview
At Loxton Campus, A Level Spanish offers an exciting opportunity to develop your linguistic skills and cultural knowledge. You will work with authentic materials – newspapers, films, songs, and literary texts – to enhance your listening, reading, speaking, and writing abilities.
Our experienced teachers will guide you through grammar, vocabulary, and communication strategies, while interactive workshops, language labs, and cultural events give you a deeper understanding of Spanish-speaking countries and their traditions. You’ll explore literature, music, cinema, and art, immersing yourself in the vibrant culture of the Spanish-speaking world.
In Year One, you will study towards an AS Level, providing a solid foundation before progressing to full A Level in Year Two. This flexible approach is ideal if you are taking four subjects and contributes UCAS points for university progression.
As part of the course, you will join our Career Excellence Hub, gaining access to enrichment activities, work experience, and projects that enhance your employability. Opportunities include placements in June of Year One, February of Year Two, or a week of college-based experiences. You can also follow pathways such as creative writing, media, or debating to develop additional skills aligned with your career goals.
Our purpose-built Sixth Form simulates a university environment, and our dedicated teachers and Tutor Learning Mentors provide guidance in study strategies, exam preparation, and university or career applications.
