The Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting covers high-level accounting and finance topics and tasks. Students will look at and become comfortable with a wide range of financial management skills and applications and will gain competencies in drafting financial statements for limited companies, recommending accounting systems strategies and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports. Students will also learn about specialist areas such as credit and debit management and cash and financial management.
This qualification comprises three mandatory units and two specialist units. The mandatory units are:

Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements

Internal Accounting Systems and Controls.

How will I learn?
This course is delivered through blended learning, combining in-person classes at Weston College with flexible online study.
The online video lessons are available on demand and can be accessed from your phone, tablet, or computer, giving you the freedom to decide when, where, and how you study.
On campus, you’ll take part in regular sessions with a college tutor. These classes focus on reviewing what you’ve learned online and provide tailored support with your progress and assessments - all without the need to commit to multiple evenings each week.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed via external examinations.
Entry Requirements
Learners should have a desire to progress in a career within accountancy and finance and due to the complex nature of many of the topics, it is recommended that students should have a good standard of English and Maths before starting the course. You will need a merit or Distinction at AAT level 3 AQ2022, or equivalent bookkeeping qualification.
Additional Costs:
You will need to become a member of the AAT at the start of the course and take out professional membership with them to be a studying member. This can be done online directly with the AAT and will be an additional cost to the course fees. The cost of this is approx. £244.
Progression
Progression On successful completion of this course, you can progress to higher levels of the AAT Accounting Qualifications (Level 3 and then on to Level 4). Under the Free Courses for Jobs initiative, you might be eligible for a fully funded Level 3 course. Alternatively, you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of your Level 3 study.
