This course is perfect if you love working with vehicles and want hands-on experience in a modern workshop environment.
Course Overview
Taught at our South West Skills Campus, this course provides hands-on training in vehicle systems, engine maintenance, and automotive fundamentals, while also covering health and safety, customer service, and workshop practices. With access to industry-standard workshops, including hybrid and electric vehicle facilities, you’ll gain the practical skills and knowledge needed for further training or employment in the automotive sector.
The programme combines practical workshops with classroom-based learning, giving you the opportunity to work on vehicles in real-world scenarios. Our modern automotive centre includes two industry-standard workshops, a hybrid and electric vehicle workshop, and a commercial vehicle workshop. Experienced tutors guide you through both practical and theory lessons, while trips, factory visits, guest speakers, and motorsport shows enhance your understanding of the automotive industry. The course also prepares you for IMI accreditation, ensuring your skills are recognised by employers.
