Skills for Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
Emergency first aid saves lives - being prepared can make all the difference in a crisis. In the workplace, quick action can prevent minor injuries from being major emergencies, a vital skill that keeps everyone safer.
Throughout this course you will learn both theoretical and practical skills in administering Emergency First Aid with particular emphasis on practical skills and application.
Training will include:
- Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider and effective communication in an emergency
- Incident Assessment and Management (including recovery position)
- Basic Life Support including CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) techniques and the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator).
- Managing Unconscious Casualties
- Choking (including - Abdominal Thrust manoeuvre and other techniques to help a choking casualty)
- Bleeding and Wound Management (including dressing wounds and application of bandages as well as managing severe blood loss and tourniquets)
- Shock
- Burns and Scalds
- Minor Injuries
- Seizures

Funding: This course is 50% co-funded training via Adult Skills Fund and is eligible for employers looking to upskill their existing members of staff
Cost: £67.81 per person
Eligibility: Delegates must be 19+ with the rights to work in the UK and meet requirements of the Adult Skills Funding rules
