Awareness of Safeguarding & Prevent in the Workplace
This qualification is intended to introduce participants to the concept of safeguarding and the Prevent duty. By the end of the course participants will understand the basic principles, the signs of abuse and neglect alongside the methods of abuse. They will also know their responsibilities around safeguarding and the Prevent Duty and the responsibilities of their own organisation.
Who is the training for?
This training is ideal for anyone working with children, young people and vulnerable adults (potentially in care, childcare or education), in particular those in management or supervisory roles (possibly managing 16–18-year-old apprentices) and would be applicable to people in roles associated with wellbeing and pastoral support roles. Others who may benefit from this training could be Human Resouces personnel, receptionists or front desk staff who are often a first point of contact.

- Understand basic safeguarding context and principles
- Understand signs of, indicators and methods of abuse and neglected
- Understand safeguarding in the context of your own organisation
- Understand the basic principles of the Prevent Duty

Date: Tuesday 9th December 2025 Duration: 1 day Times: 9am till 5pm Delivery Method: Face to face Location: South West Skills Campus, Locking Road, Weston Super Mare, North Somerset, BS22 8ND Funding: Fully Funded or Co-funded Cost: Fully funded for employees earning under £25,000 per annum. For those earning over £25,000 employers are required to contribute 50% towards the cost of training (£88.20 per person) Eligibility: Delegates must be over the age of 19, Reside in England, Have the right to work in the UK
