Weston College Performing Arts and Media students have teamed up with Avon and Somerset Police to produce a powerful new short film to educate young people on bystander intervention in situations involving violence against women and girls (VAWG).

Keitha’s journey from Level 2 to Level 3 performer reflects her dedication and passion for dance and musical theatre. She’s excelled in challenging roles, leadership positions, and major productions like Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
Now in her first year at our University Centre Weston’s Dance degree, Keitha continues to refine her craft with unwavering commitment, inspiring everyone around her.

Last month, Weston College was lucky enough to gain funding from the Turing Scheme to take our Performing Arts students on a 15-day trip to New York City, where students not only got to experience all the sights of a big city, but also got to take part in many activities and attractions that have furthered their skills and knowledge of the industry.

Last Thursday, our Protective Services lecturers, Nicola Stent and David Usher, hosted a highly impactful and collaborative event involving students from Protective Services, Performing Arts, and UCW Hair, Makeup, and Prosthetics. With expert guidance from Tara O'Hare, a lecturer in Hair, Makeup, and Prosthetics, this exciting simulation provided learners with real-world, practical experience in emergency response scenarios.

Over Halloween, Puxton Park hosted their annual scare fest to haunt and spook the public. This year’s event, ‘Phobia’, was not only a great opening to the spooky season, but it also allowed students to practice their skills and develop their confidence.

I chose the Level 3 Dance course to pursue my passion for dance and challenge myself. The experience has been incredibly rewarding, improving my skills and confidence.

The support from Weston College staff has been excellent, always encouraging us to be our best. The facilities are fantastic, with impressive studios, our own theatre, and access to professional venues. The course offers enriching trips to professional shows and landmarks like London and New York.
