The Port Operative Apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with structured learning to build your competence in port operations. You’ll learn in real port environments, supported by both your employer and Weston College tutors, gaining exposure to cranes, cargo systems, and transport logistics.
You’ll understand how goods move in and out of ports, develop strong health and safety practices in a high-risk setting, and learn how to work efficiently in a team under tight deadlines. The programme is built around both practical and professional growth.
You will be guided by expert lecturers with extensive industry experience who will help you develop the skills to work safely, accurately, and professionally – just as you would in a real engineering environment.
As a student, you will automatically join our Career Excellence Hub, providing access to employer networking, industry visits, guest lectures, and career-focused activities to ensure you are fully prepared for your next steps.
