What will I study?

T Levels are designed to provide a technical alternative to A Levels and are developed in collaboration with employers, ensuring that courses meet industry demands and equip students with the precise skills valued by employers in specific sectors. These two-year courses are equivalent to three A Levels, illustrating the depth of learning involved.

The T Level Therapies pathway explores key areas of the sector to support your progression. You will learn vital elements such as:

  • Working within the health and science sector
  • Health, safety, and environmental regulations in the health and science sector
  • Managing information and data within the health and science sector
  • Managing personal information
  • Good scientific and clinical practice
  • Providing person-centred care
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Anatomy and Physiology

During your course, you will undertake core technical qualification in the first year, followed by a focused study on your chosen occupational specialism in supporting the adult nursing team during the second year.

Additionally, in your first year, you will engage in a social care placement, and throughout the program, you will have the opportunity to complete clinical placements within the local health trust or community care, accumulating a total of 315 hours of practical experience.

How will you be assessed?

You will be assessed through exams and project work throughout the programme. You will need to complete all elements to achieve the overall T Level.

Entry Requirements

T LEVELS:

  • 5 GCSE’S at 5 or above, including English, Maths and Science (preferably Biology).
  • A reference for placement would also be required, from a teacher or employer.

BTEC Level 3:

  • 5 GCSE at 4 and above including Maths or English at a 4, 4 in science (preferably biology) If learner is resitting English or Maths, grade on entry must be a 3.

Additionally for all level 3

  • Interest in working in the health and social care sector-social care clear DBS to allow for placement.
  • If learner is a level 2 progressor with a distinction AND a level 4 English GCSE, can be accepted and study maths alongside

Progression

You will be able to progress into a variety of allied health roles, including paramedic science, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

Uniform Information

Kit will be clarified during induction; we do not expect them to buy this before.
