What will I study?
During the programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience in:
- Navigation & map reading
- Bushcraft & wilderness survival
- Expedition planning
- Teamwork & leadership
- Rock climbing, hiking, and water-based activities
- Outdoor first aid & safety
Progression
Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll be ready to take your next step with confidence. Progress onto:
- Level 2 Public Services
Explore Careers In:

Timetable
15.5 contact hours a week, roughly 3.5 days a week, this allows for the possibility of part time work if desired. If you do not achieve a 4 in English and Maths then you will also be required to complete this alongside your main qual.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course - just enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a passion for the outdoors. All fitness levels and backgrounds are welcome.

Trips
All our courses offer a wide and extensive trip programme which includes coasteering (jumping off cliffs), canoeing, mountain and hill expeditions, trips to Emergency Services and Military bases.
