Working with Data, Skills Bootcamp
Gain the skills needed for an exciting, well-paid career, in data - where the average salary is £36,000 per year!
This 12-week Bootcamp is designed for individuals aged over 19 years as a vital, first step to helping you develop the in-demand skills to move into the digital tech sector. Or it can be used for any business looking to upskill staff to support the organisation in its digital transformation.
The Bootcamp
This 12 week/one-day per week Bootcamp will help you develop a basic understanding of the increasing popular Python coding language - used by many top organisations such as IBM, Pixar, Netflix and Facebook.
Over the first 5–6 weeks of the course you will develop the skills to write your first Python programme and be able to implement essential programming techniques that will be transferable across multiple provisions, e.g. software engineering and data science.
Over the final 6 weeks of the Bootcamp you will develop the skills of core data concepts and how they are implemented using Microsoft Azure data services.
The Bootcamp will help you understand not only one of the most popular programming languages in the world (October 2021 TIOBE Index2), but it will also support you to gain knowledge and a qualification in Microsoft’s Cloud Platform Azure (DP900 - Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals) which will be an excellent addition to any CV.
This fantastic opportunity forms part of the Government pilot to support individuals to develop vital skills and knowledge required by employers across all industry sectors.
Bootcamps are designed for individuals and businesses based in the West of England, age 19+ and are part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs.
Assessment method
There is formative assessment throughout the programme and a final end of programme examination through the Microsoft Azure platform.
Progression opportunities
Progression could be onto an a Level 5 Higher Technical Qualification , Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, or Level 3 Software Developer which is a one year Level 3 coding course in Bristol. Access to HE is also available for learners that would like to progress to an external university provision.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. A basic knowledge of IT and the ability to use a computer are core skills, together with a passion for data.
