
Education and Training Bristol, Level 3
This course is designed to give you the essential skills to be able to confidently work as a tutor, trainer or support worker. This is a good starting point for anyone intending to work in Adult Education or who will be responsible for training and developing colleagues in their workplace. Once you complete this course you may be able to progress on to a level 4 or level 5 qualification.
The City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training is the equivalent replacement for the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS).
The course consists of three core units:

Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training

Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training

Understanding assessment in education and training
Assessment Methods:
There will be a series of written tasks throughout the course and a practical assessment (micro-teach) at the end of the course.
Attendance Requirements:
The course is delivered using a blended approach with 1 day face to face at the start of the programme, and then Virtual attendance via Teams ½ day/ 4hrs per week. The course culminates in the delivery of a Micro Teach which will also be face to face.
Entry Requirements:
You do not need to be teaching to enrol on this qualification. This is an introductory and knowledge-based teaching qualification with no minimum teaching practice requirement.

You need to be 19 or over to enrol on the course.

You will be required to word process all written work and access Microsoft Teams, so basic computer skills are necessary.
Written English should meet the required standard to be able to:

Read and understand course criteria, assignments and hand-outs

Write notes in sessions, produce resources for your micro teach

Complete written assignment work with appropriate grammar and punctuation.

Research information to complete tasks and present work appropriately.
