Apprenticeships

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU

Weston College have over 2,000 apprentices with success rates above national average, and we’ve been recognised as the best apprenticeship training provider for the past two years. We even offer degree level apprenticeships so learners can earn a wage with our brilliant employers, learn alongside their job, and study a degree level qualification. Apprenticeships are proven to be successful and we have thriving programmes across the region. We have over 50 subjects covering many industries and recognising that every learner is unique, we have various course start dates and levels to suit everyone.

From August 2020 to January 2022, a brand new bonus opportunity is available for employers to recruit or upskill apprentices, this is in addition to the current incentives already in place.

  • If you recruit an apprentice you will receive a £3,000 incentive payment

These incentive payments are in addition to the existing £1,000 incentives for 16-18, or up to 24 years if the apprentice has an EHCP or is a Care Leaver. Therefore, for a 16-18 £3,000 per apprentice, combine with a Traineeship and your funding could be £4,000 – call us now to take advantage?

Also, don’t forget that you can invest in your current staff with a bespoke apprenticeship programme. We’ll pay for training costs through your apprenticeship levy or if you are a small or medium size business, we’ll access government funding to cover 95% of our training costs. Detailed guidance regarding apprenticeships is here.

We are apprenticeship experts and we’ll support you at every stage.

One Message, Different Voices

Take a look at this powerful film made by the staff of Weston College to show how important it is for everyone from different backgrounds to be included. The film shares heartfelt stories and interviews with a diverse group of staff, showing how accepting different identities and backgrounds can make a big difference. Its purpose is to encourage viewers to think about their own biases and work towards making our community more welcoming to all. We invite everyone, regardless of their background, to join us and be a part of our journey toward a more inclusive future.

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
